Wednesday's Weird News

Grrrrrls with attitude.

A 12-year-old girl was sentenced in Perth, Australia, in July to two months' detention for stealing a car and leading police on a harrowing high-speed chase. According to court records, she has already been convicted of more than SIXTY crimes. Good Lord, she's only 12. Read more...

A 7-year-old named Alisha told reporters in Reidsville, N.C., in August that she was just being a good daughter when she challenged the man who tried to rob her mom (a convenience store clerk). "I was pushing on him and telling him to 'back away, back away, man.'" Her aggressiveness foiled the robbery, but the man got away.
Said Alisha, "He should be locked up by his gills and towed to the police."

Matchmaker, Matchmaker, make me a match

A dating service for parrots? uh huh.

A German ornithologist who started a dating agency for parrots has just brought her 2,000th pair together.

Rita Oenhauser, 34, who runs a bird sanctuary at Schoenefeld just outside Berlin, said: "I realised there was a gap in the market because I had so many people asking me about finding a partner for their birds.

"Unlike a regular dating agency my work is very satisfying, as parrots, like swans, will mate for life and remain faithful - parrot pairs stay together until the end.

"It is really sweet to watch, they spend every minute of every day together, the male looking after the female and feeding her and sitting together on their perches."

She added: "I don't have to do much other than make the introductions, some birds experience love at first sight, while others make a really careful choice before entering a relationship and need to be talked into it with a complicated courtship.

"It can take up to three months of being given the best bird seed or even building an elaborate nest to entice a reluctant partner."

Woman swallowed lover's false teeth

A Romanian woman needed medical help after she swallowed her lover's false teeth during a moment of passion.

The 38-year-old woman, from Galati, went to hospital with stomach pains claiming she had swallowed a foreign object but without saying what it was.

Doctors were surprised when the x-ray showed false teeth in her stomach.

Eventually she admitted she gulped down the denture while experimenting a 'special type of passionate kiss' with her boyfriend. After spending two days in hospital, the foreign object left the woman's body the natural way.

So do you think it was a partial or full set? yikes!

Kitty's Day Out!

A cat has surprised bus drivers by commuting on a busy route most days for the past three months.

The mystery cat jumps on the No 331 service in Wolverhampton and rides it two stops down the road before leaping off near the shops. (a fish and chip shop is nearby)

Since January, the cat - nicknamed Macavity by drivers - has caught the bus three times a week and always gets on and off at the same spot.

"It was quite strange at first but now seems normal. He is the perfect passenger. The only problem is he never pays."
