1. Scotch Whiskey is distilled two times, Irish Whiskey three times, giving Irish Whiskey a particular lightness.

5. Montgomery Street in Dublin was once the largest red light district in all of Europe, with over 1600 prostitutes plying their trade. An old Irish song called “Take Me Up To The Monto” memorializes this era

Oh... I consider them as beautiful. I like the violet blossoms! We call it "Distel" in Germany - you name it thistle, don´t you? However, a good choice on "SPIKE" anyway =)
the thistle is the national flower of Scotland!
The little goldfinches love the seeds from thistle, so it is alright by me.
Yup - them are some ouchy spikes!!
