Manic Monday Survive

Mo over at It's a blog eat blog world chose survive for today's word.

This was the hardest word for me to post about so far! When I hear the word survive, I think of cancer. Having a brother who did not survive cancer at age 23 was very tough. He had a rare, incurable kind of cancer.

But, on a more uplifting note, I have 3 good friends who have all survived breast cancer (5 years plus) and know others who are in remission. All survivors.

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. For we women, surviving breast cancer is all about early detection. Self exams are the easiest and best form of early detection. Ladies, give yourself a monthly self breast exam. Guys, remind your lady friends to do a self exam once a month. Hey, you could even offer to help, as Cam here does!

Well, you took a somber piece and then added the fun. Sorry about your brother. I hear you, and I do this monthly.

I loved the video...I laughed so hard I was crying :)

Funny video. It helped to lighten the message of your brother. I lost a sibling when she was only 15, so I understand how devastating that can be.

Hi Tegdirb92, it is sobering isn't it?

Hi Sarge Charlie, thanks.

So very sorry about your brother. My mother in law died of cancer and I was very close to her so I understand how hard it is to watch a loved one go through that. Cancer is heartbreaking and I hate it!
