The old: over 100 year old peonies taken from my brother's 5 acres and transplanted last fall. They made it through the winter, can't wait to see if they bloom.
The new: plantings from brand spankin new seeds. So far there is green in all of the pots.
Gardening makes me think of "What you sow, so shall you reap". (Galatians 6.7)
Let's sow good things daily.

my new were doing well too, I put them in a ziploc and made a little terrarium for them to sprout, butthen the wind blew them of the window sill and they aint so pretty any more! They are still sprouting but the ziploc is a bit of a mess.
I have some peonies in a vase and they have filled my home with a spring fresh scent!
Oh Lisa....Our first diagreement. I cant stand peonies. But Cheers Anyaway!! ; )
R, Peonies smell so good!
Damn Matt-man, we were getting along so well.
PS It's ok though cause I don't like spam. ;-)
i knew there was something wrong with Matt!
hahaha! i should paint that verse out by the mini garden in our back yard and 1. pray for rain, and 2. hope i get some big fat juicy tomatoes all summer long. i have a daughter who will pick them from the vine and eat them like an apple. crazy!
My boys won't touch tomatoes Kate! They love BLT's without the T! I have a patio planter with tomato plants in it, can't wait to see what it yields.
Awww, peonies bring back such wonderful memories from my childhood, when I'd cut two armloads full of fresh ones from the garden alongside our house for my parents' anniversary. And yes, the house smelled so good then!
PS: Don't forget to stake them when they start blooming, or those heavy blooms will flop the whole plant right over.
I have great memories of my grandma's house with her beds of peonies Vanessa. Thanks for the reminder to stake them, they do get heavy.
