The manic monday word for today is "Orange"
This was an easy one for me as I grew up near Syracuse, NY and worked at Syracuse University for 9 years. SU's team colors are blue and orange and our school mascot is "the orange"
But I thought, that's too easy.
So I chose something else to post about today.
What I visulize when I think of orange.
It was February of 2005 and I tooke our 3 boys to NYC for the first time. It was a wonderful weekend and a great visual experience. Here are two photos from that weekend.

I'll bet that was stunningly beautiful to see at the park. Wonderful shots.
Much like Notre Dame, this year Syracuse's football team should change their colors to black and blue. Cheers Lisa!!
Tegdirb92, it was gorgeous.
you got that right Matt-man!
It's amazing that the Christo installations draw so much negavtive comment before they happen and then once they are up, people just fall in love with the look, movement, and the fact that they are a once in a lifetime experience.
yes, I am not sure why there is always so much negativity when the installations are never permanent.
Their current river project for the Arkansas river is pretty mind boggling.
I'm glad I got to see The Gates because it WAS a once in a lifetime experience.
Well, this is way cool. What a great use of the word orange. Have a great MM. :)
Lisa, I saw the Gates in person as well. they were so beautiful. I have may shots just like yours. Thanks for reminding me! Come visit my post for MM.
THanks Sandee!
I am glad you saw them too Maryt! I was hoping another MMer would have seen them.
I love the color against the bare trees.
Shag rug in your orange room? I had red curtains with mod colored flowers. I may have to look for pictures, what were we thinking?
Have a great week, thanks for stopping by.
Incredible photos! Very intriguing.
Happy MM :)
I remember seeing photos of those. Very beautiful. Thanks for stopping by.
I remember the fuss about this - how negative some people were. But it did look very nice.
nice call on the orange!
Oh geez ! I remember that, I don't like this crazy couple and the things they do. It's just like making fun of people. If you don't admire their "artwork" you are not an intellectual ! They had also covered a building in Berlin and everybody was pushing ah's and oh's about it's beauty and it looked so ugly !!
Jenny, I give my parents credit for giving me creative liberty in my room! it had a "wow" factor when you walked in. not necessarily in a good way, LOL.
Hi Sherry, thanks.
Nola, thanks, they were cool!
Travis, it was fun to see.
R, seemed to be the perfect fit since you were doing Arngee. :-)
Gattina, I understand. Their work is not for everyone and not every installation would appeal to every person either! we all see things differently.
Lisa,
Thanks for stopping by my site. I thought this was beautiful!! I wish I could have seen it in person, but lived too far away at the time. You were so lucky!!
Lee
Ooooh... I´m a little bit jealous. Just a little bit. It´s been ages ago I´ve been to NY - and I dream of taking my son there one day.
Loved the pictures ♥
I'm not a fan of the colour orange, BUT those pictures are really stunning. It must have been quite a sight in person!
WOW! So vibrant!
People will find anything to argue over won't they?
Thanks so much for sharing!
Lee, you're welcome, I enjoyed it! and yes, I consider myself lucky to have seen this.
Sanni, you'll do it! I loved having the boys experience it all. They keep asking to go back.
Hi T, how are ya? it was gorgeous in person.
Julie, they really will!
