I now pronounce you.....

brother and sister!

Twins who were separated at birth got married without realizing they were brother and sister, a lawmaker said, urging more information be provided on birth certificates for adopted children.

A court annulled the British couple's union after they discovered their true relationship, Lord David Alton said.

"They were never told that they were twins. They met later in life and felt an inevitable attraction, and the judge had to deal with the consequences of the marriage that they entered into and all the issues of their separation."

"Everyone has a right to knowledge about their lineage, genealogy and identity. And if they don't, then it will lead to cases of incest," Alton told The Associated Press during a telephone interview today.

From the Houston Chronicle, Jan. 12

and what about sperm donor babies? seems like there would be potential for similar stories down the road...

I read that story and it scared me. Can't imagine how awful that would be.

THAT JUST SOUNDS CRAZY!

Even as fraternal twins they did not have ANY resemblance to one another? NONE?

Did they think it was just odd they looked alike?

And in the end. . .EEEEEEEWWWWWWWW! I am sure they already did it! And even if they didn't, i am sure they made out! WITH THEIR SIBLING!

i think I just threw up al ittle in my mouth!

Lois, it is sad to think about the shock they must have felt finding out!

R, some fraternal twins look nothing alike. They were probably so similar in other ways they felt they were meant for each other!

Hi Kellan, I'm glad you're feeling better. I am never forgetting the bra story.

I read this story the other day, and my heart broke for them. How awful! To another persons comment - they don't need to look alike to be twins at all. My ex-hubby and his twin brother aren't even remotely like each other (ie one's blonde straight haired, one's brown curly haired, one is tall, one is average height so on). You wouldn't even think they were related lol

Never thinking of themselves as brother and sister, it must be tearing them apart to have fallen in love and then find this out.

There was a news story awhile back about several half brothers and sisters from the same sperm donor who had managed to find each other. The "father" doesn't want anything to do with them (he was in med school and just making money and is married with children now but has released medical genetic info for them). All the children are in a fairly narrow geographic region and they know there are more around. It could cause a major problem for them.

P. S. Drop by and tell me your very first movie star crush.

T - my mom is a twin and she looks nothing like her brother.

Travis - it's sad.

Jamie, that's terrible! I could see that happening with sperm donor babies.
